PILLOW TALK (CONFIDENCES SUR L'OREILLER) 1 345 000 entrées en FRANCE
De Michael GORDON avec Doris DAY et Rock HUDSON
Brad Allan, chanteur-compositeur, et Jan Morrow, décoratrice d'intérieur, partagent une ligne téléphonique sans se connaître. Brad passe de longues heures au téléphone à régaler ses nombreuses petites amies de ses dernières compositions, au grand dam de Jan. Un soir, Jan rencontre un certain Rex Stetson, qui lui sauve galamment la mise alors qu'elle se trouve dans une situation fort inconfortable. En réalité, il s'agit de Brad qui a reconnu la voix de la jeune femme. Conquis par le charme de celle-ci, il décide de lui cacher sa véritable identité et se fait passer pour un riche fermier tout juste arrivé du Texas. Commence alors une série de quiproquos...
Pour sa troisième semaine de présence dans le top "The FBI Story" profite de son succès au Radio City Hall de New York pour confortablement dominer le box office hebdomadaire. Mais c'est bien "Pillow talk" qui est l'évènement de la semaine. Rock Hudson qui joue sa première comédie trouve en Doris Day, une des reines de la comédie musicale, une parfaite complice qui va lui révéler toutes les ficelles de la comédie. Si celle-ci n'est pas bouleversante malgré sa sophistication et ce clinquant à l'écran qui sert à en mettre plein la vue aux rednecks des coins des plus reculés des USA, c'est bel et bien le duo parfait qui propulse le film au rang de succès au point d'être devenu avec le temps est des plus grands classiques de la comédie américaine.
